So sad to hear that your not with us here on earth anymore, but you will always be in our hearts forever, you are such a nice humble guy…I remember when you came to Australia and you stayed over at our house, I was just a little girl, I had to give up my room for you, which i didn’t mind cause i was such a fan of yours, and i was just so honoured that you stayed with us, I would take my pillow u use in the morning and hug it all day…I could not believe how nice of a person you are, you even gave me a tape and a necklace you used to wear…We love you very much and you will be gratly missed..

Francis is one of the actors in the Philippines who showed passion and artistry in everything he did. People witnessed how this young, intelligent and talented man inspired many young Filipinos to encourage and inspire them to become productive and respectable youths. It’s sad when a young, talented and extraordinary man like Francis had to die too soon. But the legacy that he’s left will always benefit the many people in the Philippines. He’s one who’ve shown that you can always live a decent and honest life even you are in showbiz.

Thank you for the wonderful years of sharing yourself and your talent to the world and most especially to the Philippines. I’ve not seen you on tv for a very long time but heard great things about you, your attitude, and your faith. Rest n peace bro.u hav been a great part of d of filipino music.ur songs wil live forever n every filipinos heart.may u travel n peace we wil remember u…
We are all saddened by Francis Magalona’s sudden death fighting against leukemia. I’ve looked up to Francis M. since the 80’s. When I lived in Clark AB in the 80’s I used to watch a show called “Loveliness” hosted by Alma Moreno & Francis himself. Francis (in my opinion) was the first filipino to introduce hip-hop to the Philippines. When I think of pinoy hip-hop I think of Francis Magalona and no one else. His album “Yo!” was his trademark album with his hit single “Mga Kababayan”. What I learned from that song was to be proud of being filipino no matter where you live in this world. My condolences go out to his family. We will never forget you, Francis. Rest in peace.

Francis Magalona was a breakdancer in the 80’s before becoming a rapper. We went to school together at JRC and shared common friends namely, one of those friends was ASO (a.k.a as kiko) my breakin’ mentor. Aso was one of the best strutter in Mandaluyong (the birth place of breakin’ in manila)if not the entire metro manila. Jose Rizal College was a hot bed for breakin’ back in the day. Legendary breakdancers and strutters came from our school and that includes Francis Magalona. I had the opportunity to battle kiko in a dance showdown back in 1984 at the glorietta in makati, it was quite a scene as the place was pack with onlookers. It wasn’t a battle between his crew The Eclipse against my own crew The Bodywave(from Pasig)it was an invite from kiko to dance with him or against him (depends how you look at it)to gauge my skill level under the tutelage of ASO and i think he was impressed after our showdown as I remember him saying to Aso “matindi tong prodigy mo” Kuya francis impacted my life 20+yrs ago(i’m 40yrs old)and i will cherished this memory forever may he rest in peace and my condolences to his family.
