Political cartoonist Sean Delonas is now in trouble after his dead chimp and two police officers cartoon appeared in the New York Post website and page 12 of the paper on Wednesday. It became controversial because of the text in the cartoon saying, “They’ll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill.” According to Rev. Al Sharpton, the cartoon is a historic racist attacks of African-Americans as being synonymous with monkeys. The cartoon refers to Travis the chimp, who was shot to death by police in Stamford, Conn., on Monday after the monkey attacked a friend of its owner. This kind of cartoon was also done by Delonas in the killing/murder of Amadou Diallo in 1999. See New York Post Chimp Cartoon photo below.
