Sengoku 7 is finally over. It was held at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. The event boasted some great stand-up, a few slick submissions and a couple of surprises along the way. The last EliteXC heavyweight champion, Antonio Silva, defeated Yoshihiro Nakao by first-round TKO when Nakao planted his foot awkwardly and injured himself. The biggest surprise of the night came courtesy of Satoru Kitaoka. He captured the Sengoku Lightweight Championship by quickly disposing of former PRIDE FC poster boy Takanori Gomi. Silva is suspended in the United States for testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs, and after ignoring that suspension to fight in Japan, he may never be allowed to fight in the U.S. again.

Sengoku 7 Middleweight Championship:

Sanae Kikuta (28-6-3) defeated Hidehiko Yoshida (8-7-1) by split decision
Muhammed Lawal (3-0) defeated Yukiya Naito (15-5-2) by TKO (3:54-R1)
Antonio Silva (12-1) defeated Yoshihiro Nakao (7-2) by TKO (1:42-R1)
Eiji Mitsuoka (15-6-2) defeated Sergey Golyaev (12-7) by armbar (4:22-R1)
Mu Bae Choi (8-3) defeated Dave Herman (13-1) by TKO (2:22-R2)
Maximo Blanco (2-1) defeated Seigo Inoue (5-6-1) by KO (0:38-R1)
