The Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning was named the NFL’s most valuable player of 2008. He won the National Football League’s Most Valuable Player Award for the third time in his career, tying Brett Favre’s mark after leading the Indianapolis Colts into the playoffs following a 3-4 start.
Manning received 32 votes, far ahead of Miami quarterback Chad Pennington and Atlanta running back Michael Turner. He easily beat out Miami Dolphins quarterback Chad Pennington and Atlanta Falcons running back Michael Turner, who received four votes each .
Manning also was the league MVP in 2003, when he shared it with Tennessee quarterback Steve McNair, and in 2004.
