2009 Miss America pageant night was held Saturday in Las Vegas. 52 candidates competed for the title of Miss America 2009 and will represent the United States to run for Miss Universe this year. Miss Vermont Ashley Wheeler and Miss New York Leigh-Taylor Smith were the winners in the final night of preliminary competition.
