Julie Amanda Tilton federal lawsuit was dismissed by federal appeals court in Atlanta because she did not produce substantial evidence that the videos and photographs depict s-e-x-ually explicit conduct. Tilton filed a lawsuit against a hotel and photographer who captured images of her and displayed them on a website.

Julie Amanda Tilton traveled to Daytona Beach, Florida, for her high school spring break in March 2001, when she was seventeen years and ten months old. Tilton stayed with several friends in a room at the Desert Inn Resort Motel.

During her stay at the Desert Inn, Tilton participated in several activities with s-e-xual themes. Tilton participated in two wet T-shirt contests, which were observed by a crowd of 300 to 400 people, many of whom had video cameras. Tilton also participated in a “banana s-u-c-king contest,” a “muff eating contest,” and a “s-e-x-u-a-l positions” contest.
