“Mario Super Sluggers” baseball game for Wii was demonstrated today at the Nintendo Media Summit. They showed how players can hit the ball with quick jerking or by making a grand sweeping moves. During the demo, Mario pitched, while Mushroom Kingdom characters such as Princess Peach, Wario, Bowser, Shy Guy, Baby Mario, Koopa Troopa, Donkey Kong, and others made special appearances.
Nintendo promises to build on the baseball minigame in Wii Sports by offering the same level of accessibility but adding a more fully realized baseball experience. The character-based baseball game will attempt to move Wii Sporters further into the Nintendo world. Mario Super Sluggers will launch in Japan in June and has been confirmed for release in North America.
