CNET Asia: Top 5 Blu-ray Notebooks
All five notebook PCs in the April 2nd CNET Asia Top 5 Blu-ray notebooks article feature NVIDIA® GeForce® GPUs, including the Dell XPS m1730, winner of CNET’s Editor’s Choice and Reader’s Choice awards(1). The PCs, featuring Blu-ray HD drives, are all based on GeForce GPUs with PureVideo® HD technology, which provides outstanding visual quality and stutter-free performance during Blu-ray and DVD playback. Now that Blu-ray has emerged as the standard high-definition movie disc format, more PC makers are adding Blu-ray to their notebook PCs and NVIDIA is providing the graphics horsepower under the hood.

1.) Dell Inspiron 1520 (NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS GPU) is built around an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and the laptop’s 15.4-inch wide-screen display can be configured with a sharp 1,440×900 or even sharper 1,920×1,200 native resolution.
2.) Dell XPS M1730 (NVIDIA GeForce 8700M GT GPU) features a redesigned case that combines familiar touches, such as flashing LEDs beneath the speaker grills, with newer elements, such as the integrated Logitech GamePanel LCD and 10-key numeric keypad. XPS M1730 offers a top-of-the-line Intel Core 2 Extreme processor, Nvidia SLI graphics, the first mobile PhysX processor, and two massive 7,200rpm hard drives.
3.) HP Pavilion dv6700 (NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS GPU) features a processor ranging from the Pentium Dual-Core Mobile T2330 clocked at 1.67GHz to the Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 at 2.2GHz. Graphics options include the integrated Intel GMA X3100 and the dedicated Nvidia GeForce 8400M GS 256MB video card. These GPUs manage the notebook’s 15.4″ 1280-by-800 pixel display. The dv6700t supports up to 4GB of system memory and comes with up to 250GB 5,400rpm hard drive. Optical drive options include a DVD burner, HD DVD ROM, and a Blu-Ray ROM.
