Burj Dubai is a US$ 4.1 billion project currently under construction in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Construction began on September 21, 2004, and it is expected to be completed and ready for occupation in September 2009. This skyscraper is designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, who also designed the Sears Tower in Chicago and the Freedom Tower in New York City, among numerous other famous high-rises.

As of 14 April 2008, Burj Dubai has reached a height of 629 m (2,064 ft), with 164 completed floors.
