On March 29, Ed and Salve together with daughter Mia and their own Java Jazz band, will participate in their much awaited performance with popular Filipino singer-song writer Jose Marie Chan at the Glad Tidings Church located at 3456 Fraser St.
This husband and wife duo have been playing and performing music together for over two decades. Ed and Salve Dayao present a unique blend of multilingual vocals such as Spanish, Japanese, English, Filipino, Chinese with about 15 more different dialects blending with instrumental music from pop to jazz in many different international venues.
Ed and Salve left Manila in the mid-seventies. They have performed as a musical duo in various hotels and night spots in Japan, the Middle- East and Australia before they came to Canada in 1986. Salve could sing songs from 19 different countries. She is accompanied on the piano by Ed, an accomplished composer-arranger who is an equally versatile performer.
Ed and Salve have set the record as the longest running house performers for close to 10 years at Trader’s Vic and Garden Lounge at the Westin Bayshore Hotel. They have also performed in different venues in Vancouver such as the Fairmont, the Pan Pacific and other five-star hotels and top clubs in the Lower Mainland.
